        • What's CFC?
      • 35K is not high salary. My paid in my first year COOP is over 35K already. CAs, CMAs get paid much higher than CGAs.
        • Are you from UW? It's tough to enrol in that university for me. So I'll choose the YORK. But in my opinion, the salary of the students from York is not high.
        • First work term UW coop kids gets 55000, that's the going rate, if you go to York, Iife is not over...
          • Not 55K, I wish it's 55k. It's 35K, or 700/week.
            • I meant for acct kids
              • Acct kid gets less than CS kids. Act. Sci. kids get the most.
                • I know what I know
          • COOP students are paid by hour, so don't use annual amount..I've worked with a couple of UW COOP (major in computer) a few years ago. Their pay was $11.25/hr. They told me only 60~70% can get COOP job in IT program.
            • things have changed
            • Things have changed. Most of us get salary now. They have annual amount and then convert to weekly amount. No matter how many hours we work, we get the same paid.
        • What is CAs ,CMAs,? I know only CGA in Canada.
          • Higher social standing than CGA. Also accountants. Certified Management Accountant. Chartered Accountants (the best!).
      • Yeah, if you can walk and talk, you can go to York
        • What does it mean? York is good or not?
    • Even if you are a branch manager of a bank, you probably get 5xK salary. Compared to IT job, it is really a pity, however, this kind of job is comparatively more stable than IT job.
      • Branch manager gets paid from 60 to 90K depends on your experience.
        • TTC drivers get paid from 60k-90k depending on your experience and overtime. Not bad, huh?
          • no, TTC drive max get up to 65k!!
        • I'm working in a Bank so I can see these internal job posting. Actually pay of branch manager from posting is definitely lover than 55K.
          • Funny! I'm working for a bank and can see the internal posting as well... Our paid for branch manager is between 65K to 90K.
            • Different banks have different salary range Even what you said is true. a manager in a bank branch can get 50k-90k salary, it is still a pity. Do you think you can achieve this position within 3 or 5 years?
              • computer people gets lay off every two months, never mind how much dough you are pulling in...
                • Yeah.. Not only money, stability is also important.
    • My suggestion
Go to do as much research as you can by yourself before making any decision. To choose the career is a complicated decision, you'd better think about it before taking any action. And, the most important point: you can ask other people for opinion but make decision by yourself.
      • You said it! But it's not easy to make a decision about career, especially in this depressed economy.
