1. You don't have too many choices, most likely go to public school, you have to look at the admission conditions of each private school even you have enough money for it.
2. English is the most difficult obstacle for a 16-year old. suggest starting from Grade 8, the teenage can have one year to learn English before high school. everything else is not an issue. ESL can help, but don't count on it.
3. Admission procedure is the same for all public schools.
Such bullshit. I came here exactly when I was 16-year old. English is not an obstacle. Now I'm in UW doing CS COOP. I can handle interview and resume writing much better than lots of native students.....

If you can take some time to write some tips for those 14-16 year old, answer questions like:

1. how to improve oral and written English in a short period after class.
2. how to achieve good scores in all sorts of projects, i.e. Geography, Science, in general of course.
3. What's the most useful suggestion you'd like to seek when you chose programs in university back then?
......
There is 15-year old in my neighbourhood will really appreciate your advice.
Thank you.
Advice: Try to make friends with as many CBCs as possible. They are Chinese, but they speak English! :) And don't be shy.
