CIBC is not permitted to receive cash(deposit) in China so they can not write a check to you. Generally speaking, the foreign banks can do nothing to help you take your money out of China according to some regulations of Chinese government

Yes, I just open an account at CIBC , and buy the bank draft at bankofchina , beijing . and bring it instead of a box of cash when I am landing . Does it help ?!

Thanks. But have you already bought the draft from Bank of China? I don't know exactly what's their procedure. I heared if you buy a big draft(let's say $5,000 ), the clerk will send you application to sb.to aprove.
