      我正在办移民，2000年7月FN，雅思已经考完了，估计2002年才能办好去TORONTO。本人计算机专业毕业5年经验，VFP, PB,VB,LOTUS NOTS都开发过系统，1年前也做过一个JAVA的数据库应用，现在正在准备英语考GRE。我想考完之后大补专业技能，VISUAL C++，COM(WINDOWS); JAVA; C++ (UNIX)三个方向让我一直很困惑，结合在加就业前景，我到底应该专注那个方面呢？恳请过来的兄弟们帮我抉择一下！

        Hi, friend

        Speaking frankly, all the skills in your post are not popular noe in Canada. Also, 1 year experence of Java is no use to help you since there many people mastered advance java technologies. Moreover, I am not sure you understand the advanced Java Tech since those technologies are not prevailed in China and the material about them is scarce, so understanding those tech. is difficult. Could u tell me what tech(advanced tech) used in your Java project. I thought it maybe just JDBC. Right?

        PB, VB are not popular here, so forget them. onthe other hand, here everybody said he can use VB. Here, noone uses PB. I said that because I also development DB application using PB. after landing, I found PB should be dead in my mind. Of coz, if u have good luck , u can use them to find job. Moreover, you shoul dforget VFP, who uses it in NR? Noone. Lotus Notes is maybe used in Banking or accounting system, but not so popular. SO you should forget them .

        OK, now, u forget all the tech you have owned and experenced, rihgt? U must feel little down. ya, just little down. Becoz, u have fundamental knowlege of CS and did projects in CS, u can learn other tech which are popular here quickly., right? SO please UP again!

        U told me, u wana study C++/COM/VC++. Do u have experence of VC? I beleive you can tell me you know C++, rihgt? But VC is not so easy to master, I mean teh advanced part. One year isnot eaough to master it. Of coa, u can choose one diratcion to learn it, such as ATL to make COM. Down to the real world, COM is just a contract or standard specification of component. Do u know JavaBeans? That tech is same as COM but pure Java. Ah, it is not so easy to study it, ........

        Moreover, I am confused about GRE. Why do u wanna take the test? DO u know how long you shoud take to get high score. Maybe 4-6 months. By then , U just have 6 months to learn the tech of CS. Oh, my god, ur time is so rash. Here GRE is not a must to take master of CS. Why do u take it to waste ur time. Even u pass the test, ur english is not promoted much. I had the experence. So forget it.

        Teh key is u have to do reserch of Market of Canada. But after the reserach, U will find the tech in CHina is so overdate and follow NR(Canda and the USA). If u wanna study them in CHina, it is difficult sicne there is no expert about those tech of NR. So u have to learn them uself. It need ur persistence and talent. I hope u can do that.

      Why? The market is so bad for java. I mean, after studying java techs, you can understand the COM/DCOMor COM+ quickly. If u study COM tech. directly, u maybe lost. u can try it!
