  • 枫下拾英 / 小说故事 / Hi guys! I scribbled something here, if you like it that's my honour.
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Last 25th, I arrived in Vancouver alone but not lonely, cause many friends of mine live here. The first sentence I want to say is, friends are the most important things in the world.

Surely, Canada is a developed country, but here you are always required to provide the names and the addresses of your friends, otherwise you should get some other certificated materials to support your some service applications, just like banking, renting and so on.
So if you know nobody here you must spend more time and maybe lose your ways.

The second thing is, trust yourself, if you cannot do that, no one would have the capability to do that. After your landing, your sponsor is yourself; try to do anything that can make you begin your new life in Canada.

Here, many companies provide further training opportunities, although in different forms. You can get what you boasted at the interview from these chances. But you should keep in your mind that “Got an offer and lost within three months would be worse than got nothing” (This sentence have grammar errors, but I don’t know how to express that way without a grammar error).

Actually, we can do what they can do, just by our education background and working experiences, so far as to do better. Don’t worry about your job. Have you scared of no works available for you before you graduated from university? Of course not!

Just to prepare your resume and cover letter carefully, you cannot miss it.

Before I started my work, I thought my English was not too bad, but now I have no option to say I was wrong. THEY speak English too quickly and too shortly. You can understand a few words not a whole sentence, cause no sentences at all. It’s totally different from what we learned from TV programs or our English teachers (even the foreign teachers). It’s not because of the vocabulary just the differences between native and second language.

Employers and employees are same kindly here, they like Chinese food although we dislike their food. The working time is flexible, what time to begin and what time to leave are totally depended on you, but you should finish what your manager told you to achieve in time. Usually they arrive at office at 9:00am and leave at 5:30pm, lunchtime is one hour, and you should bring your food with you when you leave home in the morning. Company always provides refrigerator(s) and microwave oven(s), even the sell machines for Coca-Cola, snacks, beverage and so on. There is a thing should be mentioned here is, they provide game machines, whenever you want to relax, you can, and it’s wholly free. Internet is also free and fast (T1/ADSL), you can install your IE5.0 online just for 15 minutes. Coffee in the company is also free, if you like smoking you can find your place here and have many good partners at the same time, then you have chances to improve your English quickly and make your friends gradually.

Salary is not quite important at the beginning of your work, I think, cause you can get promotion sooner if you can show your value to your manager in a short time. The other reason is; lower income lower tax.

Life is nice and life is hard also. IF you could have income before you ran out your savings, that would be fine. Anyway, there is one thing that should be kept in mind is: don’t crash no matter how heavy of your burden.

There is just one reason to make us leave our own places, that is, to have a better life.

That’s all for this time. Hope it can give you some hints.

    • Actually not everyone likes here, and it's so good place for everyone. But at least we are still young, and still can go wherever we want to go, to try whatever we want to try. That's really fantastic. Keep writing! ....
We really should exchange idea and experience. Thanks a lot. ^_^
      • Sorry, I say, it's not a good place for everyone. Just make a minor mistake in what I wrote.
