I had spent more than one year at UWO before I came to Toronto. Chinese students are much different than others and can usually be divided into two groups: 1. those take Computer Science as a second degree. 2. those take whatever give them scolarships.
Group one is under great acedemic, financial, time and family pressure. They just don't have any resource to date with you. I used to sleep some 4 hours a day when I UWO. You name it. How could I manage to settle a candle date with a girl at a violin resturant? I didn't have a minute of time to think about if there was such a possibility.
Group two is younger and many of them are international students just from China. They are still kids.
What I suggest you is be patient. It takes time. Chinese guys are shy. You may want to approach them gentlely.
Who are you? Why I don't know U?! I was in UofT recently too.

Simply put, Chinese guys are not as aggressive as those 洋人 on this matter. Plus, if you are always hanging around with white guys, you made your fellow countrymen think that it is your "taste", and scare them away...

I've heard someone said "Honey, I'm so loving you. Come here, come close, Honey. Let me kill you. It doesn't hurt at all." I was almost chilled to death.
