U.S. confidence sinks

A key gauge of consumer confidence fell to 109.2 in the United States in April, a research group said Tuesday, well below Wall Street forecasts, and March's revised reading of 116.9. Confidence is closely watched by policy makers and investors since consumer spending fuels about two-thirds of the U.S. economy.
