    • If you are immigrating to Canada, I suggest you not visit that site.
If your brain is formatted using Chinese technical terms such as 客户端,浏览器,开放源码,..... you will be in big trouble in hunting for jobs in Canada. I understand that Per's recommendation is good-willed, but I strongly encourage staying away from such Chinese sites. If you are in China now, you won't understand my intention until you come to Canada.
By the way, I love my language and culture and I still occasionally read some Chinese literature, so please do not dispute against me about the importance about why people need translate technical writings into Chinese.
      • agree!
      • I donot agree with you

I am not sure you visited that website before you said that. I checked the site and found it is a good site for Java guys.

First, if u donot want to read the articles translated, you can open the original articles in English. Comparing the articles translated with those on others, the articles hit the points and are not bad. The term is translated well and the understandings are also logical and correct.
So I think it should be a good site for guys.

Secondly, if those guys have enough knowldge of Java term in English, they can understand the articles very well and browser them quickly, then can master the main points and faster the concepts they knew. We should admit that reading good articles in our mother tougue is faster than doing in English. Right?

at last, We do get the latest news from that website and it does give us the latest news from IBM or Java world. It is benifitial to most of us, especialy for those in China now.

In my view, I suggest they visit the site, not others, frequently. I believe they can learn somthing important more.

DO you think so , Jabber?

        regards

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Actually, I browsed that site for about 2 minutes. My suggests are based upon my pragmatist philosophy.

If you are already in Canada, I believe you know how difficult it is for a Chinese new immigrant to prepare for a job interview. If our brains have been tamed by Chinese terms such as 多线程, 类, 嵌入技术, ...., it is very difficult for us to get a good performance in job interviews.

By no means I am bashing that web site. I do believe there is some cool stuff there. Yes, you may benifit some from that site. If you do not immigrate to Canada, you can always rely on that site. However, if anybody wants to do Java job in Canada, he needs to learn as much IT English as possible. Of course, if somebody's English is good enough, he may consult with that web site for fun. Different people have different ways to make a living.

By the way, I recently answered 3 Java interview questions here. The original answers posted by the author are almost completely wrong. Part of the reason is that friend misunderstood the word "extension".

Thank you again for your comments.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
          • In that way, u r right
ya, u r exactly right by that way. I want to say that site is very few among chinese sites. So this almost the last corner in CHina for Java guys. I say that because I am masters of several chinese famouse Java sites. Many times, I check the questions posted by guys in CHina, I recognize that there is no good reference in CHina now since many people misleaded by the awlful tranlation books and ask many fancy questions. So I suggestion this IBM site.

On the other hand, I think it is also good for guys in Canada as a resource for fast browser.

My question, what did you mean by
" Part of the reason is that friend misunderstood the word "extension". ", I am comfused by that.

By the way, I am in Toronto now. Glad to talk with you. But some professional questions are not answered professionally. Anyway, I think it is a very good site owing to your hardwrk and good personality.

            • Thank you for your response
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Regarding my mentioning to the understanding of the word "extension", please refer #50180 and #50196. Indeed, I think Steven's answer is not to the point and it is partly due to his minsunderstanding of the phrase "Java extension".

Thank you for your criticizing my unprofessional ways in answeing questions. I stood up at this site simply we could not find experts to be volunteers. In addition, because of language barriers, I feel it is very hard to understand some questions, not techinically, but linguistically.

I has strong reasons to push my countrymen to learn more English. Just take your response as an example. I know what you meant by the word "unprofessional". Actually, I don't think there is such a word in the English vocabulary. If we say some are very professional, we are highly praise them. However, as English speakers say some people do things in a non-professional way, they are conveying strong negative meanings. Of course, I have not yet misunderstood you. My understanding is that you think my answers to some questions are techincally problematic. As well, please don't misunderstand me---I am just discussing some interesting language pheonomena.

By the way, we are solicting some moderators for this forum. Could you and your friend be volunteers? I am playing a Java architect role now and it seems I am having great difficulties in keeping pace here.

              Have a great weekend.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
