  • 枫下沙龙 / 谈天说地 / My husband and I will get Landing Paper soon as we have finished ME. Now we get one problem and do not know which option is better, need you experts' advise....
We are not young enough now(almost 30), after getting Landing Paper, we could have 1 year to still stay at China before LP expires.
So we are thinking of having a baby now before departure, but we are not sure whether this is a good option or not? Shall we inform CA Embassy as later I am pregnant? Will they take our LPs back if we do so? Is it Okay if we land CA when I am pregnant without Babay's visa?
Another choice is we gonna have a baby later after landing, however, I am concerning of the hard work and had life will consume our time after landing and we might have to wait for at least 2 years to get a baby. But at that time , I gonna be not young enough.....
Any suggestion from you, my dear experts?
    • of course you can get landed while you are pregnant.
but I don't know how much it costs to cover your expense, for example, going to clinic to do regular check and delivering the baby. maybe you can buy medical insurance before you are pregnant, otherwise I guess insurance company may not cover the cost for you to have a baby. the last thing is that I think 32 is still a good age to have baby, at 30 you are still young! and many ladies here do have first babies after 30 years old.
don't worry about it too much, take care.
      • Really appreciate your suggestion, dear guest even though I don't know what is your name. Thax.
        • xixi, you are welcome. I've been married for two years and I want to have first kid in 5 years when I will be in my early thirties, so I have no much experience about such stuff yet//blush. Don't forget to teach your baby Chinese everyday:-))
        • well, if u give birth to ur baby before landing, u'll have no choice to undo this ...
          • she can still bring the baby. but, most time you can count the time, right?
    • No matter u deliver ur baby in China or here, u have to consider.....
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Some of my friends, they got pregenant by accidently after theri landing, so only one of a couple can work, then the other only relax, and wait for delivery. In this case, if the workign one has an IT job, then life here is okay, otherwise, it's hard.
Other friends who have other little kids as old as 1-3 years, so almost all of them left their kids in China. Then after 1-2 years, after their lives become more stable, they will take their kids back to Canada. I don't like this style.
The third style is, one party got an IT job, the spouse study as part time, and their parents are here, helping them to take care of their kids. It's safe and good for both kids and parents. But u have to stay here for some time to sponsor ur parents to come.
The forth style is, some people send their kids to the day care, when their kids are only half year old! How come? I don't like it, but to them, they don't have other choices.
The fifth is, one friend of mine, has a good job in China, before she got the LP, she was crazy about canada, but after she got the LP, the more she knows canada, the more she knows how hard life in canada is, comparing with China, she began to make a decision that, she will give up it. So now she is canada to wait for delivery, and she didn't quit her job, her baby will get canadian passport as she/he was born here, then, she will go back to china wih her husband.

Okay, u can have all the choices, but before u make any decision, pls think it over, then make a decision. Remember, everything has two sides, good and bad. Dont' worry too much, as u are still young! Believe me.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
      • Thank u very much lumlum! I am in the same boat as Joanna. But ...
... do u know if the baby is born within 3 months after i land in, how much should i prepare for the delivery? 'Coz as i know, one can not enjoy medical insurance within 3 months land in, so what should i do? Ur suggestion will be highly appreciated!
        • I heard that there are some government-sponsored family doctor who are responsible for taking care of those new immigrant without medical insurance....
Then u can also enjoy some kind of medical welfare before delivery. But so sorry I am not familiar with this. Don't worry too much, once u are here, u can ask those Chinese community for help. They are free. Take care. ^_^ Had a lovely dragon baby.
