This is a reminder on The Tsinghua Anniversary Gathering on April 29. Please mark your calendar now so that you do not miss this important event. Dear Alumni:
The 90th Anniversary of Alma Mater is rapidly approaching. Our alumni
worldwide are going to celebrate this important occasion with various academic,
cultural and entertaining events. I am very proud to let you know that two
of our alumni, Prof. Jesse Zhu and Mr. Daniel Dao, have been invited to go
to Beijing to join the celebration there. Many congratulations to them on
behalf or THAA.
As a tradition, THAA is organizing a general gathering every year around the
anniversary time. As this year is a special one, we will make this year's
gathering especially interesting and memorable, for families with children,
for young couples and for singles alike.
We will make this event public through various local newspapers. Please
inform and invite alumni if you know they are not aware of this event. You
may also bring your friends who are interested in the celebration. We are
also going to invite representatives from other local Chinese Organizations
to join the celebration.
It is the most important annual event of our association, and it is an
excellent opportunity for us to get to know each other and make new friends.
I can promise there will be a lot of fun and delicious foods.
Details on the events are given at the bottom of this mail.

11:00am on Sunday, April 29, 2001
LOCATION and DIRECTION
Morningside Park, Scarborough
If you drive: Get off Hwy 401 on Morningside, go south. The park is on the
west side on Morningside Ave.
(parking available in the park).
If you take TTC: Take Bus 116 at Kennedy Subway Station to the Morningside
Park
We will gather at the entrance of the park at the Morningside.
THEMES
Anniversary Celebration, Socializing, and Networking, Eating (and Drinking)
FORMAT
Picnic/Potluck: Please bring your favorite food to share. The amount should
be sufficient for your own delegation. Considering that some people may be
allergic to peanut, please make sure that the food you are going to bring is
peanut-free.
THAA will supply abundant soft drinks of different varieties, and
"non-alcoholic Champagne" to toast for Alma Mater.
Some little presents will be provided for the children.
PROGRAM
1) A welcome message from Dr. Peter Huang, President of THAA, to new
members. Introductions of THAA directors, and a brief report on the status of
our association.
2) Introduction of world-wide celebration activities of 90th Anniversary of
Alma Mater by Dr. Joseph Pang, current director and former President of THAA.
3) Opening of the celebration activities and various entertaining games.
These games are designed/selected to be suitable both for adults and for
children. Winners of each game will be presented with "a beautiful
custom-made THAA T-Shirt" designed by an appointed artist specially for this
events. Lucky winners will be offered with an on-site photographic
opportunity with the T-Shirts on. So do not miss the opportunity.
4) Good Wish Toast with tasty non-alcoholic Champagne.
5) Start of our "Anniversary Feast"
6) Socializing and networking .
COLLECTION OF MEMBERSHIP FEE
As a tradition, we will collect membership fee during the event. Starting
from this year, the membership fee will be collected on volunteer basis
depending on your financial situation. A norm fee of $10 is suggested if you
decide to contribute. Nobody will stop you if you want to contribute more.
Although the fee is not mandatory any more, your contribution is very helpful and greatly
appreciated by THAA to maintain our capability to organize events like this that are
to the benefit of members, and to interact with other organizations.
