Long time ago, while I was singing this song, I just liked its beautiful melody... I couldn't understand the meaning of the words at all.

Later when I watched the movie "The Smiling Face", where "The Olive Tree" is the theme song, I thought maybe the meaning of the song is related to something about love. But it doesn't look that convinced.

After I came to Canada, on day I suddenly came to realize that this is what the song means! At that time I didn't have a job, everything is pending and not stable, but I still feel kind of relax and happy, for what? because of the reasons I mentioned in the previous post.

We come for not only the blue sky and green grass, although those are becoming rare and rare in China. Canada has many other things worthy for us to come. It's these "other things" that make us feel happy and safe and satisfied, make us feel "dream comes true". Maybe, that's the so-called "Olive Tree" ?
