I am going to immigrate to Toronto area. Upon arriving, I want to study in an university, my quesiotns are: Can I apply for loan from the university to support my study during my first year of study?
Since I am still waiting for my landing paper, will my application for studying in university have any negative effects on my application for immigration? Finally, may be a dumb question, what is the difference between federal financial assistance to students, if any, and university loans?
I badly need information about above questions.
Any body gives any suggestions, I appreciate your kindness very much!

It is difficult to apply for the loan during the first year and even if yes, you can only get the Toronto loan, not the Ontario loan.
      • Thanks alot for your attention! How about federal loan? Can I apply it?
    • you can only apply for federal ....
loan, which is CAD6500 for two main terms. And you can apply for summer loan, for approximately CAD2000 at summer. Other than that, you may allso be eligible for work study during the summer, it pays you 8.5 dollars an hour for 301 hours.

By the way, there is no problem for you to apply loan once you have landed. Good luck
