Dealing with officers is tricky. Here is the words I used: "I would be greatly appreciated knowing the processing status of my petition for Canadian permanent residency because my case is far beyond the normal process time." They never gave me a response, but I suddenly received the LP in June. I was aked to land before 9/21/2000. This brought me some inconveniences but I have to comform to this time schedule. I believe you will get the LP. The delay might be due to the so-called background check. Take it easy, my friend.

As I said, I never got response from consulate. I have many friends imiigrated to Canada. Some of them did this in Canada.
They told me: if things are slow, that is likely
the consulate is don\inbg security check.
My case was fucking slow. I sent my application in Jan of 1999. I did my first MED in April of 1999. I was interviewed on May 24.
I did my second Med on May 28 and the doctor tole me she sent the result on June 1, 1999. Finally, I got the LP on June 1, 2000.
I am asked to land before Sept 21, 2000.
I did all these in Virginia, USA. I will be landing on Sept 16. Hope these can be helpful.

Sorry for my loose English. Canadian Consulate occasionally pick up some applicants and investigate their background: Will the applicant be harmful to Canada?
Did he have any criminal records in his/her motherland? .... If the applicant provides a good reference, the consulate may call the referee to check if this letter is a fake.
