  • 枫下沙龙 / 游山玩水 / Unfortuatetly, we see no bears so we are still alive!! Just come back from Algonquin Park. The park is so beautiful, and the trip is so exciting, although we are all so tired. It's so wonderful an experience!!!
    • 请有空告知详情,我打算下个长周末去呢!谢谢了先! :-)
      • It's so hard for me to express my feelings in short. Some of us are thinking about going there once on Aug. or Sep. Please be patient, I believe I, and others trip members, will post more about this trip (when they are not tired any more). First tip:
Planning your trip at least two or three weeks before your trip.

      • Here are some of my thoughts about canoe trip planning. Be sure to do this planning 2 or 3 weeks ahead of your trip.
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛1. Go to the national resource information center located at 900 Bay Street, to buy a Algonquin Park Canoe Trip Map.

        2. Find a trip route according to your schedule. For first time campers (like me), I think 10KM a day is moderate. We spend about 3 or 4 hours to finish that distance. The most hard part during the trip is not the distance in water, but the distance in portage. We have two portages (one way), one is 240 meter, and the other is 590 meter.

        3. List all your members and planning the vehicles. I think 4 persons one car is perfect. When doing this, remember that you will have a lot of gear with you. The park has a limitation on the numbers of persons each site. If you have more than 9 persons, they will ask you to book two sites, and of course will cost you more. We have 10 persons, and we have to book two sites, but in fact we only use one.

        4. Call Algonquin Park to book the trip, camping site, and canoes. There are a few types of canoe, choose the lightest one that you could afford. The one we have is about $33/day, not including the life jacket. If you have vihicles to transfer canoes to your access point (one car can take two canoes, you need to rent 泡沫垫块), you can rent canoes on the way to Algonquin Park, and it's much cheeper.

        5. Rent cars, if needed.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
    • Sitting in the office but my mind still in the woods.
I should email you some pictures that I took with my DV But was too tired yesterday. I wahtced video with my familiy and every one goes "WOW..." when they saw those fish.
    • Did you bring your daughter with you? How does she like it?
      • Finally, I decided to leaver her at home with her mother; but I will take her next time. The most challenge for her, as I could figure out, is the fear of darkness and wildness when camp out side at night.
        • Did you feel cold at night?
          • It's a bit cold in the second night. We burn a fire, and play 杀人游戏 around the fire. When sleep in the sleeping bag, it's not cold any more. Maybe because we are too tired, I feel very comfortable in the sleeping bag.
If you go, you'd better buy a 睡垫 and put it under your sleeping bag.
          • I felt very cold at first night. May be it because the ground was not very dry.
          • HAHA. it was bit too hot for me at the first night that I have to unzip my bag whole night. the second night was just right on. I got a 3lb bag and rated at 0C.
          • I think you'll be fine if you head in this summer. Really a wonderful experience. Struggling in the fast water is the most impressive one. Beautiful landscape, nice campsites and FISH! I wanna
advanture into Algonquin again sometime this summer or autumn after I learn swimming (hopefully! ^_^).
            • You might be able to swim if the one falled in water is you. What a pitty.
              • hey man, dont curse me. why you hate me so? i swear its not me who killed you that night.
                • haha. take it easy, I'm just kidding.
    • 我正在写需要带的东西的清单.
      • 都有些啥? 24包方便面加牛排鸡翼猪趴火腿香肠?
