Less than 1% new comer find their first job within one month. Keep on job searching with your confidence. You can get it. Also, you can go to the Human Resource Center and take job hunting class. You can learn some useful skills of job searching. Try to make friends who are working in your field. I think it is a good way to get information your need. Good luck!

This programme took 3 months. The first month of the programme was totally about the way of job hunting. For example, how to write covering letter, resume, how to have an interview and etc. I think it was useful for me. Also I met friends there. You know in that kind of envirornment, everybody wants to find a job, so people encourage each other. I found a job a month ago, that is 8 months after I arrived in Canada.

this could be an unusual case, but new immigrants can't find job in 1 year is very common here. don't know what kind of job you're looking for and what your background is, so can't give much advice.
