Tell your manager directly, you need to take off for parental leave for xx weeks, -liangwei(LIANGLIANG); 2002-11-4 {282} (#835241@0)
your company will give you ROE paper, by taking that, you go to local HRDC to apply for parental benefit ( 35weeks maximum, if you are qualified) I suggest you give HRDC call center a call first for detail,

You need to tell them the exact weeks that you would like to take off, for parental leave, they can't fire you, -liangwei(LIANGLIANG); 2002-11-4 {453} (#835326@0)
meaning, you canto go back to your current job if you want to after you take your benefits. But as far as I know, there seem to be some limitation as of when you can take parental leave, usually, after your wife finish her 15weeks maternity benefit, that is the time people claim parental benefit, I don't know your wife is eligible for that benefit or not, if not, when you can claim your parental benefit, I am not sure. Better check with HRDC first.

1.关于牛奶金：根据规定小孩离开加拿大需要报告给有关机构，他们会停发牛奶金，当孩子回加国后又会发放。当然也有人隐瞒的，但如被查到的要追回牛奶金且罚款。这些在申请牛奶金的申请材料中都会告之。 -downtown(downtown); 2002-11-7 {314} (#841374@0)
2。父母金是父母在家照顾孩子的补贴。在所有就业保障金中，普通EI在离开加拿大期间是没有的，因为他们提供这笔钱是鼓励失业者找工作，病假金也是没有的（除非他们准许到国外就医），而父母金只要和孩子在一起，即便回大陆，他们也会将钱自动转到帐户，因为父母金是不需要每两周报告一次。
