I have two friends who are good at Japanese and poor in English. One had been struggling in ESL for 3 years without making much improvement. Another worked in a tourist shop making money from Japanese guests.

Most of the Japanese and Karean companies in north America are managed by north Americans. Even native Japanese and Kareans working in those companies have to speak English if not French or Spanish.

Thanks a lot! I can speak English, but my Japanese is very poor. I'm worrying that maybe it's not enough to get a nice job in Canada. Maybe I should learn French? BTW, can I get paid if I learn French in Toronto or Vancouver?

No paid learning in Toronto. I think studying French is kind of waste time. What for?

just to get a job first, then find a proper major to learn---still I want to get a master degree.I havn't decided which city to go. Maybe Toronto is better than other cities, since more universities?
