      • WAP is a good field, too.
        • How about XML?
          hi,jabber

I'm waiting for my LP now and making preparation for job in the future.

I'm now learning EJB and XML. Could you give me some advices?

Is it really very difficult finding a job in Canada?

I'm frustrated and puzzled by the words in this forum, please help me!

          Thanks in advance.
          • EJB and XML and servlet/JSP were hot last year. Java market is very cold now, so many people with these skills are finding jobs.
            • Egg, I disagree you. Java is not cold now. Its present market should be termed as "normal". NO technology should be as hot as Java was half years ago.
    • how to find what need learn and what need not learn and then what you must learn and then you know, what you must not learn, and then you get your end of life, you are too old to die....that all for today, L and G, Thank you
    • Next wave will start with XML. Keep an eye on it
      • XML must be based on some lanaguges such as Java, C++, Python, Perl.
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛If you can write some XML files only, it is hard for you to get jobs. You need to be able to create DTD file, parse XML files, render XML file, send and receive XML files. There is a big landscape in the XML fields. Without strong programming ability, one can only modify some XML files for software configuration.

I think it does not make too much sense to argue which field is hot or cold. Being a programmers, we must share sweats, even tears. If you think Java is no longer hopeful, what is the hot pot in the software industry? C is so old, but I know some peole who are still making their living on it.

It is not a good idea to put our success or failure on probability. Java's hype has passed. Now it is time to make our living by skills, not by chance. If you really believe chances instead of opportunities, I suggest you go to embrace C#. But this is a gambling. If C# is successful in the market, you may be a pioneer and you may occupy a first position if you are lucky. However, if C# fails in the marketing like JINI, you will be a complete loser.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
        • Never stop learning in IT
Good point ! We are in IT. That means not only higher salary, better living standard, but also means you are in a fast lane.

For a MD, he/she spent 5 years in the shcool and can begin to practise. He/she can realy on the 5 years of learning for the whole life. But for a programmer, that's a different story. Every programming language has its life cycle. I learnt PASCAL and assembly in the university. Now how many of you using them to make a living?

I believe in order to be successful in this field, you got to know what's going on now, follow the market trent and never stop learning. I would like to share experence with you.
