Parets' thought is good, but reality is, for kids, they have neither the initiatve nor the substantially favorable envionment for writing and reading Chinese CHARACTERS.

When your baby is 1 or 2 years old, do you teach him/her both Chinese and English at the same time? Would he/she get confused? Any experience?

send them back to china, or I'll go back with them. And will bring them back to canada after at least finishing junior high school.

Really? I think elementry school is pretty important for them. It's the foundation of his "Canadian Experience".

From my personal experience, it takes longer for kids who are exposed to bi-lingual environment to learn to speak their first words. However, as it is said by some specialists, these kids will be smarter than others later on.
