Question: Do you still teach your children Chinese (read and write) in Canada?
    • even i don't have child now, but that's for sure! it's a must to be my son!!!
    • why not?
    • Yes, I will.
      • //:hands.
    • I'm trying. He is 3 weeks old.
      • talent baby
    • Parets' thought is good, but reality is, for kids, they have neither the initiatve nor the substantially favorable envionment for writing and reading Chinese CHARACTERS.
    • of course!
    • I am。
    • When your baby is 1 or 2 years old, do you teach him/her both Chinese and English at the same time? Would he/she get confused? Any experience?
      • send them back to china, or I'll go back with them. And will bring them back to canada after at least finishing junior high school.
        • Really? I think elementry school is pretty important for them. It's the foundation of his "Canadian Experience".
        • Wrong.
      • From my personal experience, it takes longer for kids who are exposed to bi-lingual environment to learn to speak their first words. However, as it is said by some specialists, these kids will be smarter than others later on.
