Air Canada and WestJet have dropped the price of their May and June flights from Vancouver to Ottawa down to $254 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

In all other months, these flights are 2.5 to 3X the price.

The flights are nonstop both ways.

This deal also works in reverse. Ottawa to Vancouver is available for a similar roundtrip price if you know someone that would like to come visit you.

Porter is still charging $655 CAD roundtrip for the same flights. (Update: Porter has joined the party and dropped their fares to around $330 roundtrip with carry-on)

How to find and book this deal

1. Start with the following Google Flights search:

Google Flights: Vancouver to Ottawa

- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations.

- Adjust the trip length at the bottom.

- Look for the dates that are $247-$270 roundtrip

2. Go to Kayak or Skyscanner or FlightHub

- Search for a flight from Vancouver (YVR) to Ottawa (YOW)

- Try the same dates you found on Google Flights.
