Well, I have uttered the word some people might want to say.
Recently, a lot of small companies are dying in my area. Corresondingly, some Chinese H1-B holders are losing jobs. In USA, it is a challeging thing to be on H1-B. These H1-B holders need to find a new job within a short time. Otherwise, they will be no longer to stay in USA legally or they will be in trouble in the future green card processing.
During past few weeks, some Chinese H1-B holders found my boss and ask ed our company to sponsor their H1-B. For this, they need pay a big price: they pay money to my boss and my boss "pays" them a salary. Even my boss does not make one penny from them, these people will lose 30% of their money in such a game. At least, my boss needs to use their money to pay Social Security tax, and these people need to pay income tax after they get their "salary".
More importantly, not all the people can find an H1-B sponsor. My boss just helps the people recommended by reliable friends (No one volunteers to do such things.) Some of laid-off H1-B holders have to change their immigration status into student visa.
USA is heaven, but it is hell for those without a green card.
