新来的 need to be up to speed or something will get into their way. I'm a "老"移民 and I hired quite a few 新移民 in the past year. No single layoff has happened to them. I, however don't particularly take care of them myself. I only influence their attitude, which is the single most important factor here. It's all up to you - nobody can hurt you other than yourself.
