本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛最近准备更新厨房和一楼的地板，去了Home show，找了3家专修公司估价了；装修时间大概定下来了。
一开始，我跟一些home show 上的renovator 聊，他们都对IKEA cabinets 不屑一顾，说降低你房子的价值。我对IKEA 的映像也一般，简单，简洁，平价。最近几年都没有在那里买家具了。
橱柜shopping，我去homeDepot, 比较喜欢KraftMaid, 唯一的问题就是价格基本到我的上限（还在谈，再看看Moment Line）；
去了Costco 推荐的 Raywal（semi-custom?）, 东西也不错，价格也还好（备选之一，还在细谈）；
去了几家中国人开的橱柜公司，如果是本地制造的算semi-custom，价格也不便宜，和Raywal 一个价位(不知道有没有讲价空间)；如果是RTA （ready to assemble），选择很有限，但价格便宜，全plywood 的construction，实木的门，价格只有前几家的一半吧。说实话，如果喜欢那几款样式，还真不错。
这些中国产的橱柜怎么这便宜？sale 告诉我，他们使用的Russia 枫木？我上网查了查，应该是Russia Birch 吧？还有一个问题，在他们的showroom，这个橱柜的门都安装的不是很齐，这是橱柜本身的质量问题还是安装的问题？我不知道。油漆还行，但和前几家相比就差一些。我对这些RTA橱柜的最大的不满就是hardware。我询问，能否升级到Blum 的hardware 如果我额外付费, sale 都说没法做。RTA 橱柜的Hardware 一般只有3 年保修，Blum 的是lifetime warranty。而且使用的感觉也有很大差异。
在朋友圈询问他们的橱柜选择，有人问，去看看IKEA 的橱柜么？
我根据下面的要求，直接把IKEA 的忽略了，因为IKEA 的不可能是Plywood.
The following is Main Line Kitchen Design’s criteria for quality construction:
A face frame made of 1 1/2″ x 3/4″ thick solid hardwood.
1/2″ plywood sides, bottoms ,and tops with 3/4″ plywood shelves.
A solid wood 3/4″ hanging rail or a 1/2″ plywood back. A 3/8″ back is OK but not preferred.
Ibeam construction and wooded corner blocks are preferable to plastic corner blocks.
Solid wood dovetail drawers and Blumotion tracks and soft close doors are mandatory.
现在我想问，这些结构的标准是不是必要？如果想使用20年以上。
因为IKEA 针对结构有25 年的warranty，除了KraftMaid，基本是最强的。其它家的warranty 3年，5年而已。
What products are covered under this warranty?
This warranty applies to domestic kitchen use only. This warranty covers all of the following parts of the SEKTION kitchen system:
• Cabinet frames
• Door and drawer fronts
• UTRUSTA hinges
• MAXIMERA fully-extending drawers
• UTRUSTA shelves of tempered glass and melamine
• Plinths
• Legs
• Door dampers
• Push opener for doors
• Cover panels
• Deco strips/mouldings
• Pre-cut countertops except LILLTRÄSK
• Sinks except FYNDIG.
• VÅGLIG connecting rail
• UTRUSTA connecting rail for fronts.
另外，我也知道IKEA 的局限。
Stock Cabinets,基本不可能完全Match 我的厨房，会有Filler,没有实木门，风格是现代的。
