关于HIJABHOAX我和本区MP交换邮件内容,希望对如何运用本地语言逻辑让对方接受自己观点有所参考。

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Dear Mr. Ken Hardie

As a Canadian in your riding that voted for you in the past federal election, I feel the urge to write to you in order to express my grave concerns over the hijab-cutting incident that took place in Toronto the other day. The incident, together with the handling of the incident by the Toronto police, has drawn tremendous attention from the Asian Canadian community.

The reported hijab-cutting incident, which was quickly condemned by the Prime Minister, was later revealed as 'did not happen' by the Toronto police, without disclosing any details as to what really happened, why this happened, and how such incident can be prevented from happening again in the future.

I would like to ask for your help to request the Toronto police to disclose sufficient information pertaining to this incident in a public, fair and responsible manner. I believe each every Canadian has the right to know what happened in our communities, esp. those that hurt the feelings of certain ethnic groups within this diversified country, and, as a tax payer, whether the utilization of public resources is fair and responsible.

Therefore, I want to see more transparency in the handling of this incident by the Toronto police and I'm looking to you for assistance to get the clarity in the matter. Thank you.

Hi XXXXXX,

Thanks for your note about this situation. I think many of us were shocked and outraged when the girl first made her claims, mainly because we know such incidents are possible in Canada. Next Friday the 26th marks the first anniversary of the shooting at a Quebec City mosque that left six worshipers dead.

I have no problem relaying a request to the Toronto Police for more information, but I’d like a better idea as to what kind of information you want to gather. Perhaps some form of official report or publication of the investigation notes?

You probably know that had the girl been a few years older, she could have been charged criminally with ‘public mischief’ for instigating a police investigation with a false claim. As an 11-year-old child, however, she would not be charged under Canadian law. I gather that her school, her parents and others are teaming up to get to the reasons for her action and to teach her about the harm such false stories can create.

This girl did something that other kids from all backgrounds have also done, and a whole field of study exists, such as this article: https://www.truthaboutdeception.com/lying-and-deception/children-and-lying.html

I appreciate your distress that someone from your community was falsely accused. Judging from the emails and conversations I've had, there are many who, along with me, share your feelings. For what it's worth, in the media review I’ve done, not that many outlets picked up that aspect of the story, but I have sent a message to our residents in Fleetwood – Port Kells assuring them that while the government expressed outrage at what we thought was a real incident, where an accused was concerned, we would leave the fact finding and charges to the authorities.

Please feel free to get back to me with your thoughts.

Best regards,

Ken Hardie, MP
Fleetwood – Port Kells

Dear Mr. Ken Hardie

Thanks for your quick response, I appreciate your support and sharing the same feeling.

Kids are always innocent, they are white paper when they are born, it's not how stupid a 11 year old girl did matters, it's how and what her parents teach her matters.

Our purpose is not to charge a 11 year girl for making up such a hoax, the girl herself is also victim, nobody knows if she was forced to do so, was she threatened or maltreated in such a family? I can't imagine how a 11 year old girl was interviewed in front of so many people by the media and described an incident that never happened in such a practiced and peaceful manner, shouldn't her mother Saima Samad be futher investigated? Why in most cases the child protection agency quickly step in whenever someone reports a child be under threat and here Saima Samad just said "I thought it was real too" then everybody should trust her.

Like in twitter, @kevinmklerks wrote: I wonder how the Asian males in Toronto feel about being targeted by those behind the HijabHoax, Sadly they are probably used to it because, after all, they are "just" Asians and not Muslims.

Islamophobia shouldn't exist in this country, we're all working hard towards this goal, not only Muslims themselves, but also all ethnic groups in Canada, will this incident helps reduce Islamophobia or promote it? or create another kind of phobia? it's worth all the politicians and media to ponder.

We don't want to use one phobia again another phobia, nobody should live under any phobia, no matter Muslims or Asians, it is what the parents job should teach their children, so I think the Toronto Police should investigate Saima Samad and give the public information how her daughter is educated in the family, if she's living in a safe, normal environment.

We'll appreciate if you could get our voice and concerns cross to the media and Toronto Police.

Best Regards

You can count on all my support, Steve. I will ensure the Prime Minister’s Office and the Toronto Police are aware of the community’s concerns.

Dear Mr. Ken Hardie

Can't appreciate your more, sorry to bother you again, forgot to mention one thing, last year, just in Fleetwood, a Chinese new immigrant saved a refugee from middle east from a crazy brutal dog and got serious injured, in hospital, when people asked him, would you regret doing so, he said no. No politician and media stressed such a positive and touching story, in the case of hijab hoax, they couldn't wait and jumpt to conclusion before the investigation was done.

After the hijab hoax, If next time the first story happen again, would that man think twice? that's why I think it's important for all of us to learn from it, the two cases, which one help us unite and which one help divide?, anyone likes to see division in this country?

As an hardworking and ordinary person, I don't have much channel and resources to get my voice to heard, that's why I wrote to you, a trusted MP of me, I hope you can help all Canadians at your best.

Sincerely
