Contract4 --Telecom WAN Circuit Specialist

Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC) has an opening for a Telecom WAN Circuit Specialist located in Lake Forest, CA. This is a Telecom technical position in supporting PAC Global Communication Systems (GCS) WAN circuits Planning, Architecture, Design, Change and Renew. He will own the RFx (RFI, RFP, RFQ) processes technically when dealing with Telecom Circuit providers.
This is a Junior to Intermediate 12-months contract position, with possible extension or convert to permanent.

Job Responsibilities
• Support Principal/senior network architect collecting required Telecom status information in each PAC location, co-location or Teleport, or potential future co-location and Teleport.
• Contact each Teleport vendor, collect information includes Teleport operator’s own circuit’s capabilities, and what the on-net third party Circuit providers are, and their contact information.
• Contact each on-net Circuits providers, collecting information includes what kinds of circuits available from this on-net location, such as direct Internet, DWDM leased line, E-PL, EVPL, VPLS, MPLS L3 VPN, etc. What is speed range for each type of services? And what are the order to delivery lead time.
• Using Google earth analyzing diversity status by analyzing .kmz files provided from vendors
• After review with senior network architects, create quote request to each vendors for the selected options.
• Manage vendor’s RFI and RFQ progress, clarify and answer vendor’s questions.
• Document clear and concise notes related to RFI activities to ensure senior architects and managers can view the most current status.
• Create summary ppt slides about the technical and price information being collected
• Track order status and provide timely updates to customers.
Skills and Qualifications
• 2~5 years of experience and knowledge on Telecom circuits types and their Prons and Cons, such as DMDM, EPL, EVPL, VPLS, MPLS L3 VPN, etc.
• 2~5 years of experience and knowledge of IP network
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent self time management skill and project operation skills.
• This job requires flexible work hours, it requires deal with global vendors. When the day you are working with ASPAC and American vendors, you are required work 1:00~9:00pm, and occasionally need have meeting until mid-night; when the day you are working with EMEA and American vendors, you are required work 6:00am~3:00pm.
