1) If you are a good learner, or if you are determined as Jabber, I suggest you learn by yourself. But you need to communicate with others. You need discuss with others
2) The softeware anfd hardware environements in your present project is very very nice. The issue is how much you can benifit from it.
3) If you do not work hard, you won't become a Java programmer forever. If you work hard and have instructions from a good instructor
like jabber, you can become a Java programmer within 3 months (I think you have a very good background).
4) Your English won't be enhanced unless you are a willing person. There are so many Chinese people in Canada.... so you don't have an English environment unless you try to elude from your countrymen.
