Stage One: Board-Wide Screening takes place in mid-September, which involves the board-wide group administration of the Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test (CCAT) to all Grade 4 students. The completed CCAT tests are forwarded to Student Services who subsequently forward them to Nelson Canada to be scored. The CCAT criteria for students to move forward to the next stage is as follows: (three scores (Verbal, Quantitative, Nonverbal, and Composite) at or above the 90thile AND the remaining score at or above the 85thile.
