the Customs here in Canada doesn't stamp anything on your passport. There is no record of your departure at all. So it doesn't make any difference whether you leave from Canada or US. However, when you get to the Customs in China, the Chinese officers definitely stamp an entry date on your passport. So it's obvious that you are out of Canada during a certain period of time. You didn't gain any days, did you ?
