hi,buddy. I'm glad to have a non-IT person to post here. I' ve been tracing the forum hosted by jabber since its inception.
my remmendation for you: are you fond of gambiling? i mean if you are the sort of person who loves to take risk.
if the answer is positive, then forget the IT discipline. You can make big money by first accquiring an mba degree ( best make the use of your english advantage) and then having this degree as your foundation of making big buck. the chance of success depends on your enterprising brain, acumen , and the bless of god.
otherwise just dive into the IT domain -- learn some useful skills like hot java.
Nothing is hard than standing in the crossroad wondering which is the right path!
I'd been a commercial consultant two years before.I took the TOEFL and GMAT with good scores and planed to be an mba prospect at the same time two years ago.Now I have a lovely daughter who is 11 months plus. Within less than two years , I transformed from commercial to IT field. since I don't have that much money to afford the tuition and etc to study in the top 20 US business schools and at the same time to take care of my family in the north america. I hope my dream come true someday .
The old saying: nothing is diffiult if you put your heart into it. From having my first tutor--my wife instruct me on how to use windows explorer two years ago , in less than half a year I got the paper MCSE. by this paper i got a job in one of the largest tele com in china.
those who don't know my history take me as an expert in the field cause I 've been in charge of establishing an intranet ,isp, voip project and peronally do some programing with asp,vb and sql.
by the way ,just like you i got lp in july and plan to land in next march.
good luch with your choice!＜本文发表于: 相约加拿大:枫下论坛 www.rolia.net/f ＞
