BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF CST
In 1960, a dedicated group of educators and business professionals decided
it would be difficult for many students and or families to afford the
increasing costs of post-secondary education without undue financial
hardship. They felt that without a planning and savings vehicle, high costs
would prevent many otherwise qualified students from pursuing post-secondary
education.
The Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation (CST) was created by this group to
encourage and promote access to post-secondary education through the
Canadian Scholarship Trust Plan. The Foundation is a non-profit
organization. CST plans are Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs) under
the Income Tax Act (Canada).
The CST Plan is the oldest, largest and most recognized of its kind in
Canada, with 19 volunteer board members, 73 volunteer regional advisory
council members and over 1000 enrolment representatives. Over $1 billion is
under administration, representing over 1/4 million plans for families
saving for their children's post-secondary education.

About The Speaker - Jean Chen

Jean has been working with CST for only 3 years and have been awarded the
following awards in her career at CST:
1) Gold Personal Production Award Rookie Enrolment Agent in 1998
2) Bronze Personal Production Award Enrolment Agent in 1999
3) Top Ten Enrolment Agents in 2000.

After achieving these awards, She has been very happy and proud to be part
of CST, because she knows now that she has helped many people's lives by
allowing them pursue post-secondary education to obtain their dream in the
near future.
