I think some employers in Canada are too picky but they cannot evaluate people's skill properly.

I dominate my team and I told my colleages that we just hire good people, and we do not aim at hiring the "best people". In one word, we must be fair in evaluating others... For instance, we don't evaluate job candidates using complicated questions about pointers... We use open questions to test the people---if the correct answer should have 3 entries but the candidate can answer only 2, we don't think he/she is poor.
