Sorry to let you know that Delphi has little market. Even you are lucky to get a Delphi job, you cannot sleep well.

Java have two directions: Enterprise and Micro Java. Both can offer us good opportuties to earn a living. Of course, DB is essential for an application programmer. Networking is a black box for most Java programmers.

I know many Chinese programmers look down upon Java. Some people always complain Java has no good performance.
Actually, absolutely good performance is not necessary in the real life. This is why Java has a good martket though it is somehow slow.

I hope you are not blind to Java. I don't advise you to learn Java. However, I strongly suggest you learn something new.
