I have used both, Cable is not stable since it's built on the cable Tv network, which on average is 30 years old, so there are lots of physical problems with the infrastrue, but it's hands down, faster, no questions

there, ADSL mainly had to deal with technical difficulties since the current telephone network in canada is merely 15 years old or so and it's better maintained since it's not generally exposed like the cable tv system.
