some tech issue

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛ASDL uses telephone line to transfer data, it compresses the data 3 times the normal rate, so if you use an ASDL, whatever you send or recieve will be going through your phone line to the switch network, you are not sharing any resources with anybody living around you.cuz the phone line is fixed for one person use....

Cable uses coax cable to transfer data. The coax cable in your room will not go DIRECTLY to the data network, all the cable in a certain area will be gothered together and sent to a network node. In this case you are sharing the network resources with people living around you, and you know the maximum transfer speed for coax cable is fixed which means the bandwidth is fixed, so if there are more people using the internet at the same time, you will get net congestion for everybody has to get a certain amount of resources from the fixed resources. It's like 100 people to share one watermelon or 10 people to share one watermelon, you can figure out in which case you can get more watermelon.....So when you live in an apartment there are more people living around you which means more people are sharing resources with you..you are gonna get less resources when everbody is using the resouces...Plus if you are using rogers cable for your TV, that will also drain the resources....

Type cable VS ASDL on some website you may bunchs of interesting stuff concerning this...good luck更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
