At least, in my case (2 kids family) I feel much easier to rise my family in States(Seattle) than in Canada (Vancouver). Not only the tax is much lower but also the income is much higher. A family with kids can get a lot of tax benefit in US, however I didn't get Child Tax Benefit neither tax deduction in Canada.
Vancouver, 6 years income, no tax deduction for property tax and mortgage interest payment
Seattle, 4 years income, tax deduction on property tax and mortgage. By the way, property tax are almost same amount without considering exchange rate.
States is much cheaper in terms of dollar amount.(means assume 1US=1CND)
Car insurrance far cheaper (half less than Vancouver).
Food, clothes, gasline all the items you name them, are cheaper in term sof dollar amount. Some are cheaper even you convert US dollar to weak CND dollar.
If you think real buy power and tax issue in you income, basically you earn one buck in Seattle equivlent to 2 CND. If you ahve a family with kids and still young, take any chance go to States to make some bucks, then you may have a decent retire life later.
Just my 2 cents for all DX reference.＜本文发表于: 相约加拿大:枫下论坛 www.rolia.net/f ＞
