it's really hard to say

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛1. As for my knowledge, the forest industry in Canada is under recession recently. Particularly, it is seriously shocked by the 17% penalty import tax charged by USA early this year. Thousands of workers have been laid off in BC, the most important area of Canada's forest industry. I should say it will be really hard for you to find a 'professional' job. In such cases, I can't give myself any reasonable excuses to explain why you should cancel your career (not job) in China and move to Canada.

2. You've worked in a university >6 yrs. Though it is low-income, a faculty member is somewhat respected. It is hard to struggle from the bottom again for you, am I right? You've got a Ph.d, you have a title of lecturer (or assi. prof.?) in China, but here in Canada, you will be nothing but a newly landed immigrant, a new comer from the other side of the earth. Do you really want to start it again?

Those are my personal opinions. As they say, everyone has its own target and plan. It is your life and no one can decide it for you.

Good Luck.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
