Help!!! WinXP problem: How can I erase all XP installation history...

I Installed WinXP later on I upgraded my memory from 256M to 512M but the XP OS does not operate properly any more. After I uninstalled the 256M memory - it worked OK.
Any help?? Thanks!!!
