If it's computer at work, it's reasonable that it's running login scripts with DOS prompt. If it's home computer, sorry, I don't know your problem.

After the Windows98 start-up logo, the screen displays the DOS prompt and then flashes 4 or 5 times before I can see the login dialogue. How to stop the flashing?
