TORONTO -- Tonight's the night to reflect on the past year, and to put on those party hats and celebrate the dawn of the new year.

And in Toronto, there are plenty of places to do that.

First Night Toronto, the city's version of the New Year's Eve event that runs in 200 cities around the world on Dec. 31, is already in full swing -- having opened its doors at SkyDome on Dec. 26 to an indoor street fair, midway rides, games, face painters, musicians and performers. The party climaxes tonight and you'll need an admission button (which can be bought at all Toronto Public Libraries and the SkyDome box office) to get in.

And Nathan Phillips Square has once again been taken over for the 17th annual bash to ring in the new year. Hosted by Gord Martineau, Juliette Powell, Liz West and Rick Campanelli, celebrants can enjoy free performances by David Usher, I.D., Baby Blue Soundcrew, Leahy and Staggard Crossing. About 30,000 people are expected to join the party.

Alcohol is not permitted. The event will be broadcast live on CityTV and CablePulse 24, starting at 10:30 p.m.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
