十万火急的问题:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛am Boni's boyfriend. Perhaps you can give us some advices and answers
about getting married in china.

Here is our situation. I抳e filed the application to sponsor Boni, my
girlfriend, as Fiance Status in early November 2001. Now, we are trying
to get married in hoping that this would cut short the waiting time.
I have booked a ticket to Shanghai on Feb 23rd, 2002 and get wedded
with Boni in the following week. I already got a Single Declaration
done last Saturday. However, the lawyer had notarized my driver license
instead of my passport. Well, it was partly my false for not being award
that my passport needed to be notarized as well. I am not sure if the
passport needs to be notarized for the marriage part or only for the
Canadian embassy in China when my Fiance, Boni, is ready to submit the
application of her part. I can抰 get a notary of my passport because
it is still in my travel agent抯 hand for a VISA. I won抰 get my it
back until Monday, Jan 21st. By then, I will have less than 2 days
to have a notary of my passport.

My questions are:

Do I really need to get a notary of my passport along with the Single
Declaration to get married. Or will Single Declaration simply do for
now just for the marriage part. Is it that passport notarization need
to done only when my Fiance is ready to submit it along with all other
documents to Canadian Embassy in Beijing.

Are passport notarization and Single Declaration two separate documents?
If passport notarization is a part of the Single Declaration then certainly
the lawyer who抯 done my Single Declaration should have asked me for
it.

I might not have enough time to get a notary of my passport. So I need
to know if it is ok to go ahead with the Single Declaration that I have
now and after we got married I come back and get my passport notarized
and then send it to my Fiance?
