1)What kind of life will you want to catch? Money, fresh air, cause or family? You will only get fresh air(beautiful environment) in Canada. Not anything else...
2)what is your purpose for immigating to Canada? Only for changing your status? If your answer is yes, please come here ASAP.
I have many friends who have lived here for more than 8 years. A few of them will go back to China after suffering the North American's economic crisis, and others won't go back due to their children. I can give you some examples:
1)He got Ph.D. in Canada, worked in Nortel for almost 8 years, and got laid off last year. He works as a manager in Beijing Branch of Nortel right now, and his wife is looking for a software engineer position in Beijing although she still works in Ottawa Branch of Nortel.
2)He and his wife both got Ph.D in EE in Canada. They have stayed here for 11 years. He was laid off last year, and his wife escaped the disaster due to her parental leave. They couldn't go back because their two children. He told me: "I feel very disappointed with this. I already became a professor if I went early. Life quality is very different..."
3)He got Ph.D in Canada 7 years ago, and his wife divorced with him. He has worked as a group leader in a famous company for 7 years, his salary is more than CAN110k, and he still feel unhappy. No achivement, and doesn't know where his future is.
4)My husband works in Nortel as a senior designer now, and his salary is CAN115k, but he wants to seek a new life in China this year using his four weeks vacation.
My examples maybe not stand for whole chinese people, but at least response some chineses who have Canadian degree, higher salary and live here for a long time.
