do you still remember the crazy hire hype last year?
Back then, nortel was hiring anybody who had anything to
do with "network" with outrageous salaries. Nortel's
hype helped push the tele-com salary level to a record
high, which forced those small startups to catch up with their salary when hiring people.
I can still recall that I couldn't believe my ears when a guy who couldn't
even speak English straight asked for 85 grand plus stock options because nortel had offered him that much. The only thing I could say
then was " This is VERY wrong". The correction comes a bit late somehow.
