本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛好多次在网上看到有人问护士（护理）专业的就业和求学情况，正好手里整理了一些资料，希望对大家有帮助。也希望有经验和体会的朋友跟贴，完善这个话题（另：上帝啊，看在我一字一字敲出来的份上，给这篇多一些读者吧）
（一）良好的就业前景
根据加拿大人力资源部的资料，到2010年3个需求量最大的的职业中，和护理（护士）有关的就占了两个，居第一位的IN-Home Nurse 和居第二位的Nurse Practitioner(工作性质在护士和医生之间的康复护士，主要工作在恢复健康为目的老人院等机构)。（第三位的是Programmer / Analyst, 相信rolia上的众多计算机DX们会有几分欣慰吧）。
（二） Type of position in Nursing System
一般说来，我们把护理（护士）系统的工作分为3类。
第一类为“Personal support worker”.工作场所和职责主要包括：
- Nursing home: personal care, bed making, transportation and feeding
- Hospital: bed making, feeding and personal care
- Senior centre: personal care, housekeeping, shopping, remind medication and cooking
这种类似国内护理员的工作，薪水一般在￥10-18/hour, according to your experience. If you work in the senior center, normally you have to look after 8 to 10 person as your daily duty.
第二类为“Practical Nurse”.工作场所和职责主要包括：
- Nursing home: medication (发药)
- Hospital : Medication and personal care
薪水通常在￥16-25/hour
第三类为“Register Nurse”. 工作场所和职责主要包括:
- Nursing home: medication, taking in charge of section
- Senior center: Medication and some of them are supervisors
- Hospital: medication, 打针，巡视病房，病院观察等
薪水通常在￥20-35/hour
（三）How can you get into the Nursing system?
1, 对于有护士背景的移民来讲，可以有以下的就业方案选择：
- 如果你的背景足够有吸引力，英文，或者是粤语很流利，可以先到一些小规模的私人护理机构做personal support worker。 这个工作一般要有certificate , 但由于现在护理人员很缺，而且这个工作的“学术性”不象 Practical Nurse 和 Register Nurse 那样强，因此一些企业也会尝试着录用一些没有加拿大certificate，但有工作背景和经验的人来做。 我个人认为如果有这样的工作机会倒也很值得一试。一来可以熟悉一下这里的工作环境，节奏和方式，另一方面也可以在实践中提高专业英语的能力。而且由于你已是“在行业内工作”，可以帮助你更容易的了解到准确的信息。
- Take profession training program to get nurse license. 现在安省有一个移民帮助计划，专门为在从前居住地有过护士（护理）经验的新移民更快的在加拿大继续从事护士（护理）工作的。有兴趣的人可以打电话至：416-325-2709作进一步的资询。
另外强烈向大家推荐一个网站， http://www.cno.org/ ， The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) 。 这是一个政府的机构，服务于Ontario 140，000 个registered nurses (RNs) 和registered practical nurses(RPNs). 如果你打算直接参加考试从而成为专业的护理（护士），你也可以在上面找到申请方法，步骤和其他相关事项。如果您对网上search 资料不熟悉的话，也可以直接致电：416-928-0900 / 1-800-387-5526 或者email: cno@cnomail.org 去索取一本叫《A guide to the process for registration in the gereral class》 的资料。相信此书对您的申请、考试大有帮助。
2, 对于以前完全没有有护士背景的移民，现在在考虑入这一行的人来讲:
- 先参加 college 的personal support worker (取得certificate)的学习。 由于这种课程的时间较短（根据不同的学校，学习时间从16个星期到20个星期不等），您可以在半年之内完成学业，找工作，开始体验和熟悉了这一行业。之后，您可以再根据自身情况和条件，决定是否继续往registered nurses(RNs)和registered practical nurse (RPNs)的方向发展。
- 如果将就业目标直接定在 Practical Nurse 或是 Register Nurse 的话，同样向你推荐 http://www.cno.org/ ， The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) 的网站。你可以在上面查到List of Approved Nursing Programs in Ontario - RN 和 List of Approved Nursing Programs in Ontario - RPN (included diploma courses and degree courses). 上面列出了所有设置了 Practical Nurse 或是 Register Nurse 课程的学校。（all the information is under Site Index, located on the right hand of the homepage, click in, then you can see the hyperlinks for the two Lists are under “registration”) 。
就我个人认为，并非人人都合适做这一行。有几个基本条件，归纳起来是胆大，心细，手巧，身健，耐心，希望你在选择你的专业前自我评估一番，因为您的心理和身体素质决定了您将来的工作质量。如果一个人从事一个不适合自己的工作，不仅对自己是个折磨，对病人也是不负责任的。同时，如果你个人体质对某种药物或气体强烈过敏或是有晕血反应的，最好在就读前详细咨询，以免将来发生意外。
(四)相关的college和专业设置：
由于精力有限，无法对所有的学校和专业做调查，下面只是一部分我个人感觉还不错的，大家有兴趣的话，可以考虑考虑(其中一些要求有工作背景和license)：
