It is a pleasure to have read the manuscript by W. Jiang. The paper presents an easy-to-understand introduction to UML and Design Patterns, two of the most important building blocks in the software industry. In particular, I think that the examples regarding Chinese recipe may be of significance for helping novices and laymen. The publication of this article will contribute a new piece of our literature.
