There are less Chinese living in this city than others, although Chinese still holds a fairly large part of the population. Living expense is a little higher than downtown and Scarbough. The apartment market is very tight now, so finding a satisfactory accomodation takes some time, especially for newcomers. Many landlords check carefully about your credit and rent the apartments only to those who have secure jobs. I faced the same difficulty when I first arrived here last year. But if you show them that you have sufficient money (over $30,000, but depends)in the bank, you will have better chances.
