There're some new features in Solaris 7&8, the CDE(Common Desktop Enviroment) for example. They have the same kernel with Solaris 2.x, Solaris 7&8 is in fact Solaris2.7 and Solaris2.8, but Solaris2.7or with higher version(Solaris2.8) is called Solaris7 or Solaris8 now.
