I try to stidy UNIX, but first I need to install linux or freebsd on my computer. The model of the computer is Compaq Presario 5000 series. But I am not sure if Linux or freebsd would support the hardware especially for network card ,cdrom,cd-rw,modem. I searched the document of redhat and freebsd, it seems those stuffs are not on the list. Any comments from experts?
