Co-operative Education:

workplace experience!
Admission to co-operative education is generally offered to students earning credits in the
senior division who are working towards the completion of an OSSD.
Co-operative education courses include a classroom component, pre-placement and
integration activities, and a placement component. Students earn co-operative education credits by
integrating classroom theory with planned learning experiences in the community to achieve
learning based on curriculum expectations of the related course(s).
Ideal adult co-operative education candidates are those who:
 Are at least 21 years of age

at the senior level
 Have successfully completed at least one secondary school credit in the past 12 months through
Peel Adult Education at either the north or the south campus

 Students planning on placements in the vulnerable sector, such as schools, daycare centres,
nursing homes, hospitals and in social work placements, are required to have a Criminal
Records Search completed by the Peel Regional Police prior to the start of the trimester
