white * yellow
Usually Europeans are called White people. But nobody is pure white. In fact, the skin color (pigmentation) of this human racial division varies from light to brown. So, I think pink is a better word to describe their skin color. But white people do NOT want to call themselves "pink", instead they call themselves Caucasian.
In geography, Caucasus is the name of a mountain in the former Soviet Union. But in Anthropology, Caucasian is a major human race live in Europe, northern Africa, western Asia, and India traditionally distinguished
by physical characterisitics such as "pink" skin color and curly hair. So, if someone tells you he or she is a Caucasian, you can tell that his or her skin color is pink (or whatever). That's better than telling you directly :
I am pink.
Chinese people are usually called yellow. But when we look at our own skin, is that yellow? I don't think "yellow" best describes our skin color. In fact, our skin color is "beige" :light grayish brown or yellowish brown to grayish yellow.
Our eyes are so different from those of Caucasians' because of Epicanthic Fold. That's the reason why their eyes look "deeper". Many CBC girls have their Epicanthic Folds removed so that they look more western.
I am proud of being a BEIGE. cheers.＜本文发表于: 相约加拿大:枫下论坛 www.rolia.net/f ＞
